─ Tuition & Fees

What does it cost?

Theological education is a real investment — and we work hard to keep it within reach. The vast majority of our students receive one or more scholarships to help offset the cost. International and domestic students pay the same per-credit rate, and all amounts on this page are in Canadian dollars.

— Financial Aid

Beyond scholarships, more help is available.

Federal and provincial loans and grants are available to Canadian students. Talk to the Finance Office about budgeting, financial aid, and scholarships — we’ll walk you through the options.

Payment Requirements

When tuition is due.

Once accepted into a CBT program, students must pay a non-refundable confirmation deposit to secure their seat. Rest assured, there are no hidden fees—100% of this deposit goes directly toward your first-semester tuition.

Domestic Students: $500
International Students – Seminary: $1,585
International Students – College: $1725

Regular semester courses (Canadian students):

Fall Semester – September 21
Winter Semester – February 8
Summer Semester – May 10

Intensive courses: 100% of all fees are due the first day of class.

Deferred payment plans are available by request. Visit the Finance Office to apply — accommodations require written documentation and Finance Office approval.

Note: Students whose accounts are not in good standing are ineligible to register for classes, attend classes, write final exams, receive grades or transcripts, or graduate.

Payment Options

How to pay.

Preferred methods are debit, cheque, and cash at the Finance Office. We also accept Interac e-Transfer and Credit Card via Populi (extra 3.5% processing fee).

For instructions or any payment questions, email finance@cbtsc.ca

International Students

Phased tuition collection.

In compliance with Alberta Designation Requirements (ADR), CBT is required to use a phased payment schedule for all international students (including U.S. students) during fall and winter semesters.

01   At least 10% of total school fees due on acceptance.

02   25% due prior to the first day of the semester.
03   25% due by the first day of Reading Week.
04   Remainder due 7 days prior to the first day of exam week.
Canada Immigration and other governmental regulations may add further requirements. All international students will submit and agree to the terms of an International Student Payment Plan on the Friday before classes begin. Intensive course tuition is due in full the Friday before class begins.
Refund Policy

Dropping a course.

  • Dropping a course before the drop date — full refund of monies paid.
  • Dropping a course after the drop date — no refund.
  • Intensive courses: no refunds once the course has started.
