Admissions Assistant

Location: 200 Seminary View, Cochrane, AB
Department: Admissions
Status: Part-time-15 hours per week

Salary/Wage: $18 Per Hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer student recruitment functions with database and file management, processing of inquiries, correspondence, desktop publishing, special projects, hosting prospective students, and hospitality events, etc.
  • Maintain & screen recruitment files and records
  • Maintain a consistent presence in the Admissions Office (preference is for predictable daily presence when not traveling)
  • Manage a list of prospective students through the use of Populi
  • Communicate in a timely manner with all inquiries, including phone calls, emails, social media contacts, and in-person visits
  • Facilitate and resource the promotion of CBT with faculty/staff and CNBC staff
  • Travel throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan, as well as select regions in the northern U.S. (with an estimated 10 overnight trips per year)
  • Provide campus tours and coordinate on-campus day-long visits
  • Represent the seminary & college as needed by speaking in churches and various meetings
  • Assist with the implementation of new communication strategies and projects
  • Maintain a general knowledge of program offerings, upcoming courses and specific dates involved (such as deadlines, late fees, etc.)
  • Contribute to team meetings and provide support to the admissions coordinator on annual reports and special projects
  • Budget and track resource expenditures in keeping with institutional and departmental guidelines
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by supervisor



  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management, presentation, and budgeting skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Skilled with database management and MS Office
  • Ability to keep information, records, and conversations in strict confidence
  • Ability to work harmoniously with administration, support personnel, and members of our constituency
