General information

After you have reviewed our college or seminary program requirements and information regarding tuition and fees, please contact the Admissions office for additional support. The next step may be to begin your application and visit our campus!

The academic school year begins approximately the last week of August.

International students start their journey with CBT each fall semester.

Canadian and US applicants who have been accepted can begin a program in either the fall or winter semesters.

Students are able to choose from studying at a full-time or part-time capacity or as an occasional student.

Please note that international students on a study permit need to maintain a full-time status throughout the program.

Yes, there are scholarships available covering a percentage of the total tuition cost. CBT does not offer full scholarship opportunities.

See what we have to offer in regards to scholarships and financial aid.

Once all the paperwork is properly submitted it typically takes two weeks for CBT to let you know if you have been accepted into the program of your choice.

Yes!

We offer two general theological studies degrees, the Master of Biblical Studies, and the Master of Christian Studies. Both can be earned 100% online.

The Master of Divinity (MDiv) and Master of Christian Ministry (MCMin) programs require the completion of face-to-face credits (F2F), which can be fulfilled by in-class learning, via Zoom, or attending intensive courses in January or May/June.

MDiv students are required to complete 12 F2F credits, and MCMin students require 8 F2F credits.

See our other Seminary Programs.

Yes. Students who wish to transfer credits from another institution must have fully applied to CBT to be considered. Transfer credits are based on program requirements and will need to be evaluated by our Registrar. Courses must be no more than 10 years old.

Yes! Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary and College is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education Commission on Accreditation (5850 T. G. Lee Blvd., Ste. 130, Orlando, FL 32822, 407.207.0808) to grant certificates and degrees at the Associate, Baccalaureate and Master’s levels.

Many seminary students attend part-time in order to work, parent, and serve in ministry while working toward their degree.

Depending on the degree program chosen, it would typically take 4-6 years to complete one of our Master degrees attending part-time. An individualized plan can be drawn up with an academic advisor to help students consider part-time status and successful completion of a degree and training for ministry and leadership.

We offer online classes and one-week intensive classes at our school to provide flexible class options in order for students to make important progress in their degrees.

CBT is located in the beautiful town of Cochrane, Alberta, with a vibrant community of staff and students doing life together. It is just 20 minutes away from Calgary, and just over 1 hour away from Banff National Park.

Because we are located outside of downtown Cochrane, we encourage students to either have their own car, carpool, or utilize the COLT bus service.

There is an On-Demand Local Transit Service (COLT) in Cochrane and we have a virtual bus stop on campus located right in front of our Administration Building.

For more information about how to book your ride please visit their website at: https://ridecolt.ca/

Student housing is available for students, whether single or with their families, to allow for independent living with community support.

We have unfurnished 1-bedroom apartments as well as two (2) and three (3) bedroom townhouses located right on-campus. See Student Housing for more information.
