It is our vision to train God-called men and women for twenty-first century leadership in tough places. We want to foster in the next generation of leaders a desire to go into difficult places, and to face courageously the challenges that confront us there.
The following goals represent the strategy by which CBT will fulfill its purpose and carry out its mission:
The Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary & College is committed to providing theological education and ministry training of the highest caliber. We carefully monitor and regularly assess the educational effectiveness of each degree program. Here are some of the common measures used by seminaries and Bible colleges to demonstrate the success of student learning. Additional information is available upon request to the Academic Dean.
In the last five years, 70% of college students and 87% of seminary students who began a degree program continue after their first year of study.
From 2014 to 2018, 69% of entering seminary students and 57% of entering college students have completed the degree program in which they were enrolled within 6 years.
“Graduates from our college and seminary have been highly successful in finding placements related to their degree programs. Over the last 5 years, 65% of our college graduates and 88% of our seminary graduates have found jobs within the first year after graduation.”
For more information about measured student learning outcomes see our Program Outcomes Report.
Additionally, graduating students are asked for feedback about their experience at CBT. Here are the results of a few of the questions from 2020-2024 (scale out of 5):
