Scholarships play a significant role in making CBT an affordable educational institution. The vast majority of CBT students receive one of more of the scholarships listed below. Students are strongly encouraged to apply for scholarships.
Scholarships are available for the Fall, Winter and Spring semesters. The awarding of a scholarship applies to student fees pertaining to a specific semester. Scholarships cannot be applied to student fees relating to other semesters or other charges such as rent.
To be eligible, students must be admitted to an undergraduate or graduate program (unless otherwise indicated below) and registered in at least two courses in a semester. Returning students must demonstrate consistency in academic studies by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3. Additional eligibility criteria apply according to the scholarship descriptions below.
Students must apply in advance of each school year in accordance with the Populi application process. Students who begin their program in January and those students who missed the previous application deadline will be able to apply in advance of the Winter semester.
To receive a scholarship, a student must be “in good standing” with CBT. Among other things, this means the student’s financial account in Populi must not have an outstanding amount owing, unless a special arrangement is in place supported by documentation.
Qualifying students will receive notification of “conditional awarding” prior to the first day of classes. The final determination of a scholarship award will be made following the last day to drop classes in the semester calendar. The results of this will be communicated to the student within two weeks.
The awarding of CBT-funded scholarships is made at the sole discretion of CBT’s management. Meeting the qualifications does not necessarily guarantee receiving a scholarship. Students may be eligible to receive more than one scholarship.
