4 MONTH PAID POSITIONS May to August

PROGRAM DIRECTOR (2)

To run Willow Creek and one to Run our Wilderness site—Coat Creek Ministry Description: To co-ordinate and supervise all areas of the camp program (daily schedule, games, skills, chapels, etc.), to mentor counsellors, help with camper and staff behaviour, may lead a cabin as a counsellor of needed and to assist wherever needed.

JR STAFF TRAINING LEADER (1)

Ministry Description: To help develop a training program for 15-16 year olds.

– To lead group of up to 9 youth in each session. Sessions will include: bible studies, mentorship, activity development (archery, horsemanship, climbing, canoeing– we will also train you), group project, cleaning duties, junior counsellor development and more.

HEAD COOK (2)

Ministry Description: menu planning, food ordering, overseeing the cooking of meals, overseeing volunteers and youth program participants, keep kitchen clean, cook at Willow Creek as well as at Coat Creek, assist wherever needed.

HEAD WRANGLER (2)

Ministry Description: to plan and implement horse programs, care and feed horses, organize tack, work horses, keep barn and tac area clean, lead trail rides, manage other wranglers, engage campers about their faith journey, assist where needed in other areas of the camp and possibly lead pack trips. One to run our resident site and one to run the wilderness site.

HEAD MAINTENANCE PERSON (1)

Ministry Description: – responsible for all areas of maintenance – fixing, painting, removing, mowing, weed whacking, chainsaw work – cutting trees for firewood, taking recyclables and cardboard to town, small building projects, participating in chapels and other camp activities. Must have a valid driver’s licence.

SUMMER SECRETARY

Ministry Description: answer phone calls, emails, finances (petty cash, Mastercard reconciliation, revenue (all real easy), photocopying, grocery runs, helps wherever needed. Must have a valid drivers licence. If possible, we would like this person to be in nursing training in order to serve as Camp Nurse.

1-3 MONTH PAID POSITIONS

Dates of Service: May 28th to August 24

PROGRAM STAFF (4)

Ministry Description: To lead and guide a camper in such a way that they will have an opportunity to receive Christ and/or grow in their Christian life, to be responsible for the campers’ safety and hygiene, to teach or help teach assigned activities, to lead cabin Bible studies and devotions each day and participate in chapel services. Counsellors and program staff will fluctuate between Willow Creek and Coat Creek sites.

ASSISTANT WRANGLER (2)

Ministry Description: To help care for the horses, to assist in the program for the summer camps, to help maintain the horsemanship area, to participate in camp chapels and other camp activities, to work at Willow Creek or Coat Creek as needed.

ASSISTANT COOK (1)

Ministry Description: to assist the head cook in the kitchen—prep when groups are here, organizing and getting the kitchen ready for the summer, cooking for spring staff, possibly cooking at Coat Creek and helping wherever needed at the ranch.

NURSE/FIRST AID PERSON:

Ministry Description: to administer first aid and medications to campers and staff, to observe the overall health of staff and campers, to assist in other areas of camp as needed.

2 MONTH PAID POSITIONS

Dates of Service: May 1—June 22

These staff help us with School and rental groups in May and June

Position: Full Time Senior Pastor

Lacombe First Baptist is seeking a Senior Pastor, who is called by God, to shepherd its growing congregation.

It is affiliated with the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada.

Qualifications:

The Senior Pastor will have:

  • Accreditation with a convention associated with Canadian Baptist Ministries, or have credentials that would be acceptable for accreditation;

Associate Pastor of Youth Ministry Job Description (June 19, 2024)
This position will provide leadership, direction, and oversight for all youth and youth programming from grade five and above, including building relationships with the families of those youth.

The individual recognized as the Youth Pastor will be able to testify to their Christian faith and life as well as speak to their calling to ministry. They will be able to verbalize their theological beliefs and their approach to ministry that will form their pastoral practice. They will have and demonstrate gifts that are appropriate to their ministry and calling as pastor.

The Youth Pastor will direct and lead youth ministry for Trochu Baptist Church. The Youth Pastor shall seek to foster Christian community through building relationships with youth and their families that strengthens their faith in Jesus Christ, their commitment to their Christian walk, and their responsibilities as members of the community and church family. The Youth Pastor will develop and implement a philosophy of ministry for youth and families that is Christ centered, mission based, and that equips youth to live a life of godliness and service.

The Youth Pastor will develop strong relationships with the church leadership, the youth ministry lay volunteers, the children, and teens, as well as their parents, with the desire to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus and in their relationship with others. The Youth Pastor will purposefully and strategically train and equip key leaders and volunteers to prepare them to minister to children, youth, and parents. The Youth Pastor will develop a short-term and long-term strategy to maintain an effective and growing ministry.

The suggestion for time associated with the junior and senior youth ministry will be:

  • Leading and Developing Youth Ministry – 15 hours per week
  • Discipling and mentoring youth – 8 hours per week
  • Ministry to families within the youth program – 7 hours per week
  • Training and mentoring volunteers – 4 hours per week
  • Professional Development – 3 hours per week
  • Administrative duties and other general pastoral responsibilities – 3 hours per week

The Youth Pastor shall:

  1. Lead and mentor the Youth Ministry Team

    ● develop, promote, and coordinate a balanced program of activities and discipleship ministry to youth, as well as recruiting and training of volunteers to assist within the youth ministry.
    ● create outreach program, activities and events that lead youth to Christ
    ● plan spiritual growth programs, activities and events that include opportunities for kids to worship, fellowship with each other, learn Bible truths and apply them to their lives
    ● be responsible for Junior and Senior High Sunday school

  2. Build and maintain relationships with young people, both churched and unchurched.
    ● meet regularly with young people from the youth group
    ● seek out opportunities to build connections with young people at school, sports events, and in the community
    ● be available for counseling
    ● support youth in the school setting
  3. Build relationships with parents and families of the youth within the church as well as the surrounding community.
    ● have regular meetings with parents, to build relationships with them as well as provide visitation in family homes to minister to the youth, their parents, and their families
    ● clearly share the ministry vision with parents so they understand the purpose of youth ministry
    ● become aware of the needs of the youth, their parents and their families
  4. Recruit and train volunteer leaders to assist with the ministry.
    ● equip parents, mentors, and other adults, as well as youth, with leadership skills to assist with the ministry, in order to build a team with consistent training and equipping
    ● train and involve youth and youth leaders in an outreach program to reach unchurched youth
    ● recruit adult mentors and prayer partners to support and care for the youth and the youth ministry
  5. Maintain a working relationship with the Children’s Ministry Team leader, working cooperatively to transition children into the youth ministry.
    ● youth ministry is responsible for youth from grade five and above
  6. Network with other youth workers in the local and surrounding communities.
    ● meet regularly with other youth workers, encouraging each other, sharing ideas and experiences
    ● assist with programming for and participate in area events with other youth ministries

Camp Kadesh is seeking a new Office Manager to execute the administrative needs of our camp. An ideal candidate will understand the significant role administrative support plays in effective camp ministry, love systems, be an active learner, and be a friendly and welcoming presence to all who come in contact with Camp Kadesh. 

Reporting to the Executive Director and working in cooperation with the full-time staff team, the Office Manager will help Camp Kadesh strive for excellence in programming and ministry. This position supports the programming of Camp Kadesh through administration, customer and guest service, and helping to promote the work and mission of Camp Kadesh. The following details are meant to summarize a position that will have some flexibility according to the skills and giftings of a final candidate and in the context of a team culture that works together to excel in ministry.

COMPENSATION

The total starting compensation package for this position is $40,000 – $45,000

  • The compensation package total includes a combination of salary; housing, utilities, internet (or equivalent housing allowance); and food during most events at camp. (Most meals in May-August and whenever groups are present).
  • An ideal candidate would live on-site, or in the local community. The ability to provide housing will depend on the applicant’s need for accommodation of those other than themselves (spouse, children, or pets). 
  • Also included is a benefits package and, after one year, contributions to a pension plan (5% of salary) and a starting allocation with three weeks of vacation.
  • Final compensation will be calculated based on total experience, ability, education, and/or certifications.
  • This salary position is set to average 40 hours per week throughout the year, but the position assumes that prime ministry months (May, June, July, and August) will require more hours and reduced hours in the remaining months.
