Finance Assistant

Finance Assistant

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Expenditure verification, data entry, and the processing or payment of invoices
  • Review and verify vendor invoices and upload them into QuickBooks
  • Prepare and perform cheque runs
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Prepares bank and credit card statement reconciliations, along with related follow-up, to ensure complete and timely reporting
  • Import donations and post to the general ledger
  • Assist in annual budget data entry
  • Generate invoices for student tuition & fees
  • Communicate and follow up with students for payment of their tuition fees and post them into student accounts in Sonis/QuickBooks in a timely manner
  • Administer and process student aid and scholarship transactions
  • Record all transactions and ensure information is up to date and accurate
  • Produce T4, T2202A Tuition Receipts and T4 and T4A Scholarship Receipts annually
  • Prepare and process electronic transfer and payments
  • Prepare and process monthly payroll
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial information
  • Prepare bank deposits for all funds received by CBTSC
  • Participate as a member of the scholarship committee

Qualifications:

  • Qualified applicants must be committed to Christian values and precepts and be in agreement and compliance with the CNBC Statement of Faith
  • Degree or certificate in accounting or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1–2 years in accounting or a similar role
  • Experience with Populi is an asset
  • NPI Certification is an asset
  • Familiarity with government requirements and regulations for charities preferred
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, and QuickBooks online
  • Proficient in accounting methods, proper internal control practices, and financial systems
  • Highly detail-oriented, well-organized, efficient, and responsible
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of records and information
  • Administrative experience
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, ability to make decisions and possess flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the environment.
  • Highly organized and proficient at handling a significant number of tasks, duties, and activities.
  • Must work with a sense of urgency and demonstrate flexibility to prioritize and perform work effectively under pressure.

Admissions Ambassador

Organization: The Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary and College

Reports to: Admissions Counsellor
Salary/Wage: $20/hr
Status: On Call Position October 2026-May 2027
Posting Date: March 26-April 9, 2026

The Admissions Ambassador at CBT supports the recruitment and enrollment process by guiding prospective students through the application journey and ensuring they meet both academic requirements and the institution’s spiritual standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Applicants must be 25 years or older and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Those who apply will be competent to explain seminary and college degree programs, available scholarships, application deadlines and tuition.
  • Ambassadors attend occasional meetings, on-and-off campus events such as Preview Day(October & March), Summer Youth Camp (July & September), CNBC events such as Overflowing (April & May) etc., and adhere to CBT policies while in the role.
  • Set up a seminary and college program booth, restock materials, speak to programs and available scholarship opportunities.
  • Collect and gather personal contact information for continual engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Philosophy of life must be in accord with the policies, objectives, and doctrinal statement of CBTSC and must possess the highest standards of personal integrity, a strong work ethic and an optimistic outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management, presentation, event planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, with a team, and is a self-starter
  • Skilled with database management and MS Office (with special emphasis on Excel)
  • Ability to keep information, records, and conversations in strict confidence
  • Ability to work harmoniously with administration, support personnel and members of our constituency
