Christian Theology I and II introduces students to the field of systematic theology and offers a robust study of core Christian beliefs concerning the Creator, Creation, and Re-creation. CT 1 specifically focuses on the Creator and Creation, covering the classical categories of Prolegomena, Bibliology, Theology Proper, Anthropology, Angelology, Hamartiology, and Christology. Furthermore, CT 1 demonstrates the role and relevance of systematic theology for Christian living, education, and ministry in Christianity’s various local and global contexts.

This course is the third in a sequence, built upon two semesters of elementary Greek. Focus will be upon the study of syntax, inflection, and vocabulary on the intermediate level as well as exegetical readings in the Greek New Testament. The prerequisites to this course are 2L2311 Biblical Greek I and 2L2312 Biblical Greek II.

This course applies various academic disciplines to practical case studies and church-based scenarios, helping the student identify and analyze relevant issues in ministry.  Because it integrates knowledge and skills gained in other courses, the student may not take this course until at least one-half of the academic degree has already been completed.

Time: This class will meet in person in an intensive format for the first week of the fall semester, Aug 27-30, and from November 12-15. For the rest of the semester, the class will meet once a week online on Thursdays, 11:00am-12:20pm. Intensive Class times will be Tuesday (Aug 27 and Nov 12), 11:00-12:20am; 1:30-3:20pm; Thursday (Aug 29 and Nov 14), 1:00-12:20am; 1:30-3:20pm; and Friday (Aug 30 and Nov 15), 1:00-4:00pm.

Description: This course provides principles of sermon preparation and delivery, selection and interpretation of the text, formation of the sermon idea, development of sermon material, arrangement of the sermon structure, and delivery of the sermon. Prerequisite for this course is 2B3311 Biblical Interpretation.
