About CBT.

A seminary and college committed to training God-called men and women for spiritual leadership — in churches, on mission fields, and in the tough places.

─ ABOUT CBT

From a handful of churches to a growing mission.

The small group of churches that started CBT has grown to well over 400 partner churches today, with a persistent vision to reach 1,000 — spread across every region of Canada. Our school plays a pivotal role in the realization of that vision.

Year over year, God dispatches more alumni to regions across the country — from the Pacific to the Atlantic and northward into the Territories. The church-planting vision of the Canadian National Baptist Convention has captured the imagination of our students, who are daring to venture into Canada’s tough places for the sake of Christ and the expansion of His Kingdom.

In addition to those serving across Canada, alumni have spread to regions around the globe as missionaries. The missionary zeal infused into our school at its founding still shapes graduates today.

— FROM THE PRESIDENT —

We are committed to investing in the lives of men and women who will be used by God to help people understand His Word and how to apply it in today’s complex world. It is our vision to train God-called men and women for spiritual leadership in tough places.

What We Believe

Rooted in Scripture.

Our beliefs and Statement of Faith are closely aligned with the Canadian National Baptist Convention. We hold to the authority of Scripture, the centrality of Christ, and the call of the gospel to every nation.

At CBT, like Caleb, we are asking God to give us the hill country (Joshua 14:12) — and we are not referring only to the Rocky Mountains framing our western view. We are looking for students who want to be equipped to serve in the hard places — whether that’s a remote village in the Yukon, downtown Vancouver, or an international mission field.

— Erected to the glory of God

“Give me this hill country.”

Joshua 14:12
CBT was founded with a calling to send students into the hard places — wherever the gospel is needed most. The hill country still calls.
